Veterans Stand Down Court Event Set for April 14th
This community event provides supplies and services to homeless Veterans such as food, shelter, clothing, health screenings and VA Social Security benefits counseling. Veterans can also receive referrals to other assistance such as health care, housing solutions, employment, substance use treatment and mental health counseling. This is a collaborative event, coordinated between local VA Medical Centers, other government agencies and community-based homeless service providers.
Veterans who are being held back by longstanding court costs, fines, and even some minor warrants related to a municipal ordinance or inactive criminal cases in Pinellas County, are encouraged to attend the event and have their cases reviewed to see if those old fines and costs can be waived.
