Events and News for the Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller
On Valentine’s Day, Monday, February 14, in the picturesque Florida Botanical Gardens, the Clerk will officiate up to thirty weddings and twenty vow renewals in a romantic and memorable group ceremony. Couples must register online no later than Tuesday, February 1, 2022 by visiting https://pinellasclerkvalentineswedding.eventbrite.com. Registration will be limited and on a first-come first-served basis.
The Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller hosted once again the 15th Annual Valentine’s Day Wedding Ceremony. This was made possible despite the current circumstances of the COVID-19 Pandemic, following the recommended safety precautions. 16 couples were married, and 13 couples renewed their wedding vows in separate ceremonies.
Capacity has now been reached for the Clerk’s 15th Annual Valentine’s Day Wedding Ceremony and Vow Renewal taking place on Sunday, February 14, 2021. Social distancing guidelines will be observed for the ceremonies which will take place in the romantic and picturesque Wedding Garden of the Florida Botanical Gardens in Largo.
Effective January 1, 2021, Appeals of county court decisions pending before circuit courts and subject to the jurisdiction change will be transferred automatically to the appropriate district court of appeal. Beginning January 1, 2021, parties appealing certain county court decisions will have their appeal heard in the district courts (pursuant to ch. 2020-61, Laws of Fla.).
The Florida Courts Efiling Portal will be unavailable due to maintenance on Thursday, December 31st starting at 12:00 a.m.
Couples wanting to make the most romantic day of the year extra special, with a wedding or vow renewal, are encouraged to register for the Pinellas Clerk’s 15th Annual Valentine’s Day Wedding Ceremony. Up to forty couples, twenty couples for the ceremony and twenty couples for renewals, are expected to be joined together on Valentine’s Day, Sunday, February 14, 2021 in the picturesque Florida Botanical Gardens. Couples must register online no later than Friday, February 5, 2021 by visiting https://clerkvalentinesdaywedding.eventbrite.com.
The Florida Courts Efiling Portal and the FCCC payment systems will be unavailable due to maintenance on Saturday, December 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (EDT).
Ken Burke, Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, has been once again reappointed to the Florida Supreme Court Standing Committee on Fairness and Diversity. Since his initial appointment to the Standing Committee in 2012, Clerk Burke has been reappointed every two years when the term expires.
By order of the Florida Supreme Court, jury trials are cancelled from Monday, March 16th through Friday, March 27th 2020.
On Tuesday, January 1, 2019, the Tyrone Branch Traffic Court and Tyrone Branch Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller’s office located at 1800 66th St. N., St. Petersburg, FL, is permanently closed due to the Courts Consolidation Project.
Due to the permanent closure of the Tyrone Branch Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller’s Office on December 28, 2018, the last day to process passport applications at the Tyrone office located at 1800 66th St. N., St. Petersburg, will be Thursday, December 27, 2018.
Effective Tuesday, January 1, 2019, the Tyrone Branch Traffic Court and Tyrone Branch Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller’s office located at 1800 66th St. N., St. Petersburg, FL, will be permanently closed due to the Courts Consolidation Project. The Clerk’s Tyrone office closure does not impact other agencies located at the branch, such as the Property Appraiser and Tax Collector, which will remain open.
